Savannah's hair regimen and recipe:
"I’ve been using henna to dye my hair for a little over a year now and I love it! I used to bleach my hair blonde for years and have had every color of hair under the sun…needless to say my hair was fried, and badly damaged. I tried every product in the store to try to restore my hair and nothing worked, until I did some research online and stumbled upon henna. I was a bit skeptical at first, after all, I tried every salon product out there and nothing worked well, so how will a little plant help? Boy was I surprised! I bought henna, indigo and amla powders online, mixed them together and after many hours and quite a mess, my hair looked gorgeous! I’ve been using henna for over a year now to dye my hair a perfect shade of auburn brown.
My recipe is as follows…
200g of henna powder 100g of Indigo powder 50 g of Amla powder
I mix up the henna with lemon juice the night before I want to dye my hair, let it sit overnight, then I mix the indigo and amla powders with warm water and add them to my henna mix. Let it sit on my hair for 3-4 hours, rinse and voila!
I love the way my hair looks and how fast it grows now. I’m always getting compliments from people about how nice and shiny my hair is. I will never go back to commercial hair dyes again."
Wonderful product. I use it to color my hair a deep red/brown with burgundy overtones. Not orange like other hennas can be. Conditions nicely too, my hair is soft and silky afterwards. My favorite henna!
I love the results! I got an overall deep-red halo tint. When I am not in sunlight the actual color of my hair is more of a deep violet burgundy. When I am in sunlight or natural light I have a more chocolate burgundy. It's REALLY pretty and a proper color for autumn. I hope these color descriptions make sense. Lol. I mixed 100g with green tea. I used two tea bags. I let the mix sit for 8 hours; applied to clean hair; and kept the mix in my hair overnight. Because this was a full strength henna application, I made sure to deep condition my hair and have been diligent about moisturizing my hair with whipped mango butter.
I have been using henna for years but ever since I started using this henna i had been getting hives and rashes on my neck area. I was wondering what was causing it but now I have figured out that ever since I started using this henna i started getting those rashes. Looks like it is not 100% organic and may have been adulterated with chemicals.
