I was pleasantly surprised, thought this was just going to be an okay product but I really enjoyed how it made my scalp feel and was shocked at how much lather the shampoo gave. Will definitely be repurchasing, thanks Henna Sooq.

I like the Cassia % Neem Hair wash shampoo (hair wash). My first time using this type of shampoo that has Ayurvedic herbs and even having neem oil in it. I see it is brown in color of most of the products are earthy brown of the rich herbs. It took a bit to have a lather not a lot but it is enough and not like the commercial types of shampoos. It really felt good in my 4C hair and it felt soft while washing it. The only thing it took longer to really making sure it was all rinsed out of my hair. I thought it was out and felt the shampoo of suds and had to rinse another 15 minutes to remove it. It said on the bottle if your hair is dry use Apple Cider vinegar or a conditioner to moisturize. I did use the vinegar but I think it made my hair a bit dry feel the next day after applying oil and twisting my hair. I know the shampoo has Decyl Glucoside which is coconut oil. That may made my hair be dry. I have not use products with coconut oil because it dries my hair a lot and make it feel hard. Also Aloe Vera. I see that Phenoxythanol is a ingredient in the hair wash is it organic thrived? Phenoxyethanol is an oily, colorless, slightly viscous liquid with a faint floral scent. It's a natural component of chicory and green tea. I do like the hair wash and will continue using it.

I have a new bottle of this shampoo. Both times when I have used it, it left a white film on my hair, especially at the roots. I do not want to discard an almost full bottle of product. Can someone tell me what is going on and what I can do to fix this?

  • I’m so sorry but this is the only product that didn’t work for me

I just want to start by saying that I adore ALL of HennaSooq products and I literally have tried almost all of them as this entire brand has been life saving to my hair which I am forever grateful for. With that said, I must echo what the previous review said regarding possibly being an issue with this hair wash unless if it’s just a fluke. I purchased 2 of these hair washes and 2 of the soapnut ones (the soapnut hair wash was great, no issues) This however was awful for me and it pains me to say anything negative but I’m only doing so figuring it might help with any possible issues or feedback. I used this hair wash 3 times so far and wow what a mess of awful build up and residue. Never had anything like this happen, very strange. My hair was so greasy, dirty, limp and had a weird texture from the massive residue. I have a very powerful great movable shower head (I’ve always used one since i henna a lot and do hair masks so good water pressure and one you can move around is essential to getting a perfect rinse) When I used the hair wash, I did not have any styling products in my hair being that I only use a few pumps of Argan oil as a leave in and nothing else (I flat iron my hair straight) I’m mentioning this because I feel it’s important to note that it wasn’t like I had an abundance of styling products to remove. I used the hair wash as a prep for henna and immediately saw I needed to rewash so I figured I would try it other ways the next couple of times. For reference, I used this hair wash followed with the co-wash so I had already tried the suggestions that were previously mentioned. The other 2 times I used it alone with nothing after and then with the sweet honey hair nourisher as a conditioner. All 3 times were an epic fail where I needed to go back and re-wash my hair with a salon clarifying shampoo just to get the residue out. The only reason why I even gave it so much effort is because I had 2 bottles of it and I also love the soapnut version. I also love cassia so that was another incentive for wanting this to work. The fact that both bottles had the same result along with the previous review makes me think perhaps it can be a batch issue? I just want to say again how much this brand has truly been life changing to me and salvaged my hair. Khadejia is A god send and her products are genius & game changers- I’ll always be a loyal lifetime customer who exclusively uses only hennasooq. Hopefully this was just one of those random things that was with these recent bottles. For now I will continue to use the soapnut hair wash instead.

  • Used 2x and left with some grit buildup

I've been using the Goddess Hair mix in my masques! I love Goddess hair, so I went & grabbed this shampoo as an addition. After use, the wash left a greyish color residue on my hair unfortunately. Most videos I've seen the hair is cleanse, but mines it's the opposite. Idk if it's the neem or cassia, but the residue is gritty too & visible. I want to like this product! The second time, I had to use addt'l shampoo to get the grit out!

HS Reply: Thank you for your feedback. We highly recommend you use our Cleansing CoWash to balance that out and a strong shower head. There are herbs in our hair washes and they are used also as treatments but do have to thoroughly be washed out. We hope this helps. The greyish hue is the first we've heard...how odd. What is your natural hair color?
