Years ago I would dye my hair with traditional chemical dyes, but I hated how damaging and high maintenance it was. So I stopped dying my hair and just embraced my natural dirty blonde hair. But honestly, I've never been crazy about my natural color & I never thought I could pull off red hair.
I just recently came across henna for hair coloring and I found Henna Sooq and Khadija's YouTube videos. Khadija is so knowledgeable on henna and shares such good info on how to use it and all its benefits. She really sold me on the henna! Everything about henna seemed perfect for me: its so, so good for your hair (especially compared to chemical dyes), it dyes beautiful shades of red/copper, and it's a natural plant dye which has this amazing earthy smell, I love it alot. My husband calls me a hippy, lol.
Anyway, I just mixed together my own recipe last night trying to get a desired color. I mixed approx 60% cassia, 20% Moroccan henna, 20% supreme henna, 2 tbsp aloe vera, 1 tbsp ayurvedic hair oil, 1 tbsp camellia oil, 20 drops sweet orange oil, & 10 drops rosemary oil. All henna sooq products. The color isn't exactly what I imagined but I knew it most likely wouldn't be. However, I am not disappointed. Even though it's not exactly what I imagined it's still incredibly beautiful and I love it. Also, I just can't stop smelling my hair, so delightful!
I'm also looking to improve my hair health. For so long my hair has been so dry, tons of split ends, and tangles so easily. After I rinsed the dye out and used the cleansing co-wash my hair already felt healthier. It was easier to brush through, shinier, and noticably more moisturized. I'm going to keep using Henna Sooq's products & see what it can do for my hair. I already feel hooked. ♥️
