Organic Cassia Powder: cassia obovata (cassia)*

How To
Mix organic cassia with warm to hot distilled water as a hair treatment (hair recipes can be found on our How To page or use as is). Let the cassia sit for about 15 minutes and then apply onto hair that has been freshly washed with our hair washes or shampoo bars. Hair treatments can stay in the hair for 1-2 hours. When dyeing hair, mix cassia (for golden tones) at 100% OR mix henna and cassia in the proportions needed for the tone you want to achieve. Strawberry blonde is 3 parts cassia to 1 part henna. Copper tones is 50/50 of henna and cassia. Once you blend the dry herbs, then add your warm to hot distilled water and mix well. Allow cassia and henna mix to sit 3-4 hours for dye release. Apply on freshly washed hair. Leave this treatment in hair for 3-4 hours. Rinse out with our cleansing cowash to restore moisture for all hair treatments, masks and coloring. Moisturize, dry and style as usual. Warning: For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Always test all henna, herbs and products on your skin/scalp before use for possible allergies. Henna and Ayurvedic herbs can be drying to some hair types. Be sure to add necessary moisturizing ingredients to your hair treatments before and after. Henna can also loosen the curl pattern. Be sure to use amla or zizyphus powders or masks to maintain curl pattern.
Cassia is a semi permanent and needs to be repeated every 2-3 weeks. This herb will loosen your curl pattern, should this apply.

Worked great for that purpose. Mixed well rinsed out well
Great product. Slow arrival time
Thank you for your review! We don't understand how it was slow to arrive on your order placed in August. It shipped the very next day and it took only 3 days to deliver to you. This is much quicker then our normal 2-3 days for ordering processing and then delivery. Should you want faster delivery times, please upgrade from USPS to a faster service as first class (ground) is the slowest delivery method. Thank you again!
I have chocolate brown hair with about 20% silver. I was in the mood to "do something" to my hair but wasn't ready to recommit to henna. I knew from prior experience that Henna Sooq's cassia is top quality, so I bought a couple of bags.
I mixed four heaping tablespoons of cassia, a heaping tablespoon of conditioning Indian herbs (maybe amla, definitely fenugreek), a glob of aloe gel, essential oils (peppermint, lavender, and rosemary), and warm water. I left it on for a couple of hours, then shampooed and conditioned. I don't think there was any color change. My silvers may be a tad more golden, but I wouldn't swear to it. My hair is super soft and conditioned.
I'm looking forward to doing another cassia treatment this weekend. It feels so pampering.
This sounds absolutely lovely! Did you take any after photos? Love this combination! - Khadija, owner at Henna Sooq
I bought Cassia and henna from you to try out the Cowboy Copper recipe on You Tube by Hatice. The color came out very vibrant with great gray coverage. My hair feels very healthy.
Love the ability to mix with henna to get a strawberry blonde on my greys and I love the strengthening
