Got my hair squeaky clean in one application. Smells good too.
This was my first time using the Soapnut Hair Wash. It felt just a tad too drying for my liking. I've used the other hair washes and didn't really get that. Perhaps on the next try, it will turn out better. Will give it another try!
It was my first time ordering this shampoo and I was taken aback by how watery it is. I wasn't sure if that is how it's supposed to be, but I still use it and it does what it needs to do, wash my hair. My scalp/hair feels great... just have to get used to the watery texture and apply little at a time... if too much it runs right out of my hands.
Let me just say that I have used Henna Sooq exclusively for my Ayurvedic needs for YEARS! Never have I had a problem until now. And I was so excited to use the Soapnut Hair Wash to clarify my hair before henna. I henna for gray hair coverage and I have TONS of resistant gray hair so an excellent clarifier is a must. It smells wonderful and it was not too thick to spread onto my scalp and down the length of my hair strands. For context I have dense (thick) and. very kinky/coily type 4 hair (mostly 4B with sprinkles of 4A and 4C). My hair strands themselves are medium to fine. I always prepoo with plenty of olive oil before I shampoo my hair and it did a mighty job of stripping all that from my strands. But my hair was instantly super dry and tangled and felt “rough” to the touch. I experienced more breakage/shedding than usual due to all the massive tangles; my hair was like Velcro! It was so weird. I deep conditioned afterward and re-applied oil to my strands but it was still a tangly mess and my hair felt strange…like it was stripped of everything while still having some sort of “grit” on it? I rinsed for a long time in the shower but maybe I didn’t get it all rinsed out? I don’t know…all I do know is that my hair gave a loud and clear message that it did not like this cleanser unfortunately.I’m set to henna this upcoming weekend with Henna Sooq products (of course) but I decided to give this shampoo a “trial run” just to see how my hair would react to it. So glad I did so because as much as I love henna for gray hair coverage, it can be (temporarily) drying and if I had used this product and then followed with henna then I probably would have suffered a massive set back and lost all sorts of hair. Forewarned is forearmed as they say…
We're so sorry to hear. It's a pretty good strong clarifier. For your hair it's going to be much better to use the CoWash and more moisture based clarifying products such as our Soapnut Shampoo bar which has more moisture in it over the Soapnut Hair Wash. If you want, email us and we'd be more then happy to have you try the Soapnut Shampoo instead (and in new packaging!) on us! - Khadija
My hair LOVES this shampoo! I wash with this every week! It is soft and gentle to my hair and leaves my hair and scalp feeling so good.
