I like using soapnut shampoo bar to clarify my hair. My hair feels squeaky clean after using it.
I’ve been using the Soapnut shampoo bar for 3 years now and I absolutely love. It leaves my hair squeaky clean without feeling stripped or dry. Once I started using it I’ve never looked back.
Yeah!! This makes me so happy. We actually have to make a brand new batch this week :) - Khadija
I bought 3 bars: soapnuts, mad moisture, and henna poo (that’s like the cutest name ever haha). I cut off 3 tiny slices from each and put in a row on my fancy wooden soapdish that is always exposed to air so they can dry and last long. It makes my bathroom look cute ❤️. Soapnuts is for pre henna and whenever I need a good clarify. Others for everyday use. Soapnuts bar smells like mint and I took the little piece and did a real nice frothy lather and massage then let sit 5 min. Feels minty fresh and luxuriant. Rinsed out (NJ soft water no need for acidic rinse). My hair was cleaner and fresher than any SLS nasty chemical shampoo ever got it but not at all tangly or damaged. The bar didn’t Shrink at all! So I immediately did a go with Moroccan henna overnight mixed with water only. (Backstory needed for context: my hair had been bleached, nasty damaged, it’s naturally dark brown w a few greys and a little wavy. roots coming in strong due to months of Sooq care but ends damaged) I didn’t exactly mean to have The Moroccan henna water mix in for 12 hours but I had a great sleep lol. Rinsed it and didn’t use conditioner shampoo and oil, product, moisturizer nothing. Soapnuts bar -> Moroccan henna -> hair. Oh but what hair it is! Straighter than ever been. Shiny. Smooth. Thick. Clean as a whistle. It’s the best Tara hair I’ve ever had. I didn’t even indigo over it like usual cuz it was so beautiful! Will review next bars as I use :)) Fave company customer for 7 years or 5 idk a long time and I consider Khadijah a unicorn in that she’s so GOOD of a person in this harsh business cruel world. ❤️
4 stars for nice smell and refreshing feel, and definitely cleans my scalp. But it BURNS LIKE HELL if it gets in your eyes, even when I'm careful.
Also I mainly bought this hoping it would get rid of my dandruff. I've used it consistently for around 3-4 weeks (around 6 times total) and it hasn't made any difference in terms of getting rid of my dandruff, which is a big disappointment, especially since before this, I've been using baking soda for the past 4 years which is also said to help with dandruff.
But now that my bar is almost over, I'm thinking I'll still buy this again since it at least has a variety of good ingredients as compared to baking soda.
I bought this along with the Sweet Honey bar, my first ever shampoo bars. I used this to clarify before henna and it worked great! Henna stuck to my stubborn roots and my hair looks amazing. I will have to try the rest of HS shampoo bars. I am a convert!!
