How To
Mix organic cassia with warm to hot distilled water as a hair treatment (hair recipes can be found on our How To page or use as is). Let the cassia sit for about 15 minutes and then apply onto hair that has been freshly washed with our hair washes or shampoo bars. Hair treatments can stay in the hair for 1-2 hours. When dyeing hair, mix cassia (for golden tones) at 100% OR mix henna and cassia in the proportions needed for the tone you want to achieve. Strawberry blonde is 3 parts cassia to 1 part henna. Copper tones is 50/50 of henna and cassia. Once you blend the dry herbs, then add your warm to hot distilled water and mix well. Allow cassia and henna mix to sit 3-4 hours for dye release. Apply on freshly washed hair. Leave this treatment in hair for 3-4 hours. Rinse out with our cleansing cowash to restore moisture for all hair treatments, masks and coloring. Moisturize, dry and style as usual. Warning: For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Always test all henna, herbs and products on your skin/scalp before use for possible allergies. Henna and Ayurvedic herbs can be drying to some hair types. Be sure to add necessary moisturizing ingredients to your hair treatments before and after. Henna can also loosen the curl pattern. Be sure to use amla or zizyphus powders or masks to maintain curl pattern.
Cassia is a semi permanent and needs to be repeated every 2-3 weeks. This herb will loosen your curl pattern, should this apply.

Love the ability to mix with henna to get a strawberry blonde on my greys and I love the strengthening
I was hoping to color greys a wheat blonde. No color was deposited at all, which they warned could happen. So I was warned, but a waste of time for me.
Hello. Thank you for you feedback. Yes unfortunately the cassia doesn't work for everyone. At least you gave it a try and it's an overall very nice treatment for the hair with the other benefits such as shine, cleansing and healthy hair.
This powder worked great mixed with henna to give a more strawberry blond color to my hair! It was my first time ever dying my own hair and my first time using henna. It was a great experience, my hair color turned out great with shine and softness. The cleanup was easy because everything is natural and I am now an official henna girl! Thank you for a great natural product!
Amazing for my hair type 1. Hair feels itself again under the hard water of Florida. I’ve used for dye purposes and it worked very well. Gave me honey tones more than reddish ones from henna. It stays around 2 weeks. I let the powder resting for 12h before apply it. Added 1tbs of apple vinegar. Let for 4h on my hair, and washed again after 4 days. That’s my regular routine for henna as well. I do have a tone of grays. It does not really dye the grays but fake it really well with a gold tone. I’ll probably buy it forever.
Henna Sooq is the first and only cassia obovata henna that I use to highlight and colour my hair. I find that the coverage lasts longer when mixed only with hot water and the amount of henna powder to fulfill the consistency desired. Cassia OboVata thickens and adds highlights to my hair. The henna easily rinses before shampoo. The colour lasts a few weeks and then I follow with the Jamila powder for colour lasting coverage for several weeks.
