Red Raj Henna: lawsonia inermis (henna)* organic ingredient
How To
Henna hair dyeing treatments should be repeated every 4-6 weeks or root touch ups as needed in between colorings. Henna can be used to create a gloss or conditioning mask treatment that can be done every 2-3 weeks. Henna might loosen your curl pattern, should this apply. You can add amla or zizyphus powder as treatments to enhance and maintain curls and volume. We highly recommend that aloe vera powder is added or one of our hair oils to your henna recipe for added moisture as henna can be drying without. Warning: For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Always test all henna, herbs and products on your skin/scalp before use for possible allergies. Henna and Ayurvedic herbs can be drying to some hair types. Be sure to add necessary moisturizing ingredients to your hair treatments before and after. Henna can also loosen the curl pattern. Be sure to use amla or zizyphus powders or masks to maintain curl pattern.
Directions: Mix henna with warm to hot distilled water and allow to sit 3-4 hours for dye release. Prewash your hair with one of our hair washes or shampoo bars. Apply onto damp hair strands and allow to remain in your hair for 3-4 hours for a full color treatment and to cover grey hairs. When doing a henna hair strengthening mask leave in hair 1-2 hours. Use a heat cap if you would like to cut the time it stays in your hair in half. Rinse out with our cleansing cowash then moisturize, dry and style as usual for best results.
Storage: We recommend you store henna in a cool dark place, fridge or freezer and away from moisture.
On average you'll need to use about this much according to your hair length:
Above ear length: 50-75 grams
Shoulder length: 100-125 grams
Bra strap length or mid-back: 150-175 grams
Lower back (above hips): 200 to 225 grams Hip/Waist length: 250 to 300 grams
Quantities vary depending on your hair length, and thickness or amount of hair.

Think it’s a great product. Seems to last well for 3 weeks but I go to 4 weeks.
I was super disappointed when I ordered several products during a sale but Red Raj was out of stock so I was denied the discount and had to pay shipping twice.
Hello. So glad you liked the Red Raj! Would love to see how your hair came out. This item has been hard to keep in stock but a new shipment does arrive soon. This is also why it would not be eligible for sales due to low stock quantities. Thank you for your feedback. - Khadija
I have jet black hair, you can see my hair kind of being brown only in the light. I followed the instructions and did the whole 4 hours.
Unfortunately left my hair dry even after conditioning. I won’t buy again … maybe it just doesn’t work for my hair
Hello
We're sorry to hear the henna didn't work for you. Did you add aloe vera powder to your henna to add mositure or any other moisturizing steps such as steaming? If you're protein sensitive this may also be a cause for henna not being a good fit. Thank you for your feedback - Khadija
Red Raj Henna Hair Dye
I've struggled with dyes fading/washing out of my hair within a month before now. I'm really excited with how this resistant henna is holding up! It also fades into a really pretty red after a few washes, don't worry about the brightness of the initial color right after dyeing. I've even gotten compliments of people thinking it's naturally red!
I am in my early 40s and decided that I don't want to use chemicals on my hair anymore. I have been maintaining a blonde beliage and highlights for over 15 years and decided to go to a strawberry blonde as I let the highlights grow out.
I tried Lush Henna in my 20s and found it really messy and difficult to use. The experience with Henna Sooq was a total game changer.
When I mixed the Henna Sooq products, I used Red Raj Henna and I also added Amala, Cassia and Aloe. The resources on the website gave me so much confidence, along with Courtney Violetta's videos, who's recipe and results gave me the push I needed. Her hair and complexion are quite similar to mine.
I watched some videos where Khadija said that you can leave the Henna on for less time if you are covering lighter hair, so I focused on the roots first and then did the rest of my hair, and left it for 1.5hrs from thr time I finished, but I was quite slow with the brush doing my roots, so the application time probably took 45 mins. I was slightly nervous, because I am getting a little bit of silver sprinkling and a big silver streak in my fringe that frames my face, and Khadija warned that greys can be tough to cover, but I really didn't want to go too dark. In the end, it looks beautiful! The my silver streak and silver specks have turned into glowy highlights and the roots are a natural copper. The beliage still shows through beautifully and I think I will continue with this method as I grow out my hair!! Everyone keeps telling me how natural it looks, I love it!!
Thank you Khadija for all the online resources, I love your message of inclusion and what you're doing to support all kinds of diversity and beauty using natural non-toxic products and traditional methods! Your website and products are amazing! Thanks again for making something so special!
